Veronika ChiChi is a Lithuanian jazz singer, composer and educator whose work moves between tradition and experimentation, structure and freedom.
Recognized as one of the distinctive voices of the contemporary Lithuanian jazz scene, she combines a powerful vocal technique with a fearless approach to improvisation, creating a sound that is both refined and unpredictable. Her artistry is rooted in jazz, yet constantly expanding beyond its boundaries — shaped by rhythm, intuition and a strong personal voice.
A graduate of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, with further studies at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar, Veronika has been an active presence on the international stage since 2012. She has performed across Europe, as well as in the USA and Asia, leading her own ensembles and collaborating in a wide range of projects — from her Veronika ChiChi Quartet and Quintet to the retro-inspired vocal trio The Ditties, contemporary opera productions, and the experimental duo neYra with pianist Dmitrij Golovanov.
As a composer and bandleader, she develops original music that balances courage and playfulness with depth and emotional clarity. Her debut album Singer of a 1000 Faces revealed her as a strong artistic voice and a compelling interpreter, blending original compositions and jazz standards with spontaneity and precision. Her later work, including the program Namai (“Home”), explores a more intimate and lyrical direction, weaving together jazz with Brazilian, Latin American and Afro-influenced elements.
Alongside her performing career, Veronika is a dedicated educator. She teaches jazz singing and improvisation at Vilnius College and leads her own private studio, while also giving masterclasses in Lithuania and abroad.
Her artistic direction is driven by a search for authenticity — a need to explore, to question, and to create music that carries both energy and light.
